Roche cobas® 4800 System
The cobas® 4800 System, v2.0 is a real-time PCR system for the detection of mutations in the KRAS, BRAF and EGFR genes of tumor samples. It features manual sample preparation, PCR technology for amplification and detection combined with automated results interpretation and reporting. The system also provides the cobas® HPV Test which simultaneously detects 14 high-risk HPV types and provides specific genotyping information for HPV Type 16 and 18.
- Streamlined manual DNA sample preparation
- The intuitive graphical user interface provides all instructions to operate the system
- The unique design provides temperature uniformity to ensure accurate amplification with every sample
- Automated results interpretation
- Automated, standardized result reports
- Workflow simplicity
- Results integrity is achieved by using the proprietary AmpErase enzymes for contamination control which help prevent carryover and detection of previously amplified products
- Reproducibility is ensured by the unique Therma-Base layer which provides uniform heating and cooling across the entire plate
- Lab efficiency is improved by automated result interpretation and reporting
- Bi-directional connectivity with an LIS for automated results reporting reduces labor and potential for error
- Processes up to 384 samples a day
- Load primary collection tubes and liquid cytology vials directly on the system
